Waiting rooms at clinics and dentists in Japan are slightly different than those in Europe. Not only the rooms equipped with TV and magazines but also air purifiers and water dispensers are equipped. Many clinics offer free Wi-Fi too. Then, talking on mobile phones are prohibited.
Of course the rooms are air conditioned and the floors are clean due to the patients have to wear slippers at the entrance of the clinics, which means shoes are kept at the shoe racks.
Other waiting rooms such as at stations are not equipped so much as at clinics but air conditioned. Beverage vending machines are located at the waiting rooms too.
