Tokyo Midtown is a large-scale commercial complex in Akasaka district in Minato ward of Tokyo. Although located in Akasaka, it is close to Roppongi district and the nearest station is Roppongi, which is connected directly via underground passage.
Opened in March 2007, owned and managed by subsidiary of Mitsui Fudosan, a real estate developer which is one of the core companies of Mitsui group. Tokyo Midtown lies on former Hinokicho office for Ministry of Defense which existed until 2000.
One of the buildings, Midtown tower is the tallest building in Tokyo, 248.1 meters tall. The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo occupies ground floor, first floor and from 44th floor to 52nd floor. Midtown tower itself has up to 53rd floor but this floor is not opened for public and used as mechanical room. By the way, Midtown tower does not have any observatory floor, which means only the guests of the hotel can enjoy the view.
